Blue Sea ,  the chic Asian Sea Bar, twenty five-foot long communal Eat-In-Kitchen table intriguingly protruding in the midst of The Delano’s Lobby famed for its sweeping white drapes and artsy décor, is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a fairly-priced, traditional and exotic new sushi menu.

 Executed by Blue Sea head sushi chef, Sukhum Temp and his crew of Asian chefs, under the direction of China Grill Management’s corporate chef Luke Rinaman and  Delano’s executive chef Maria Manso, the fare is imaginative and surprising; ideal for a late light bite or a fun gathering.

The new Zen-Sai – or appetizers – list spiced creamy tuna tataki, over wakame seaweed with house-made sesame crisps ($12) in a martini glass; elegant little hamachi usuzukuri skewers topped with melon & ginger ice and drizzled with aged balsamic ($14); wild coho salmon tartare, topped with a ripe olive & soy tapenade and crispy pickled ginger ($13);  BBQ eel sunomono, glazed eel on rice vinegar dressed watermelon and avocado ($9). There’s a delicious lobster avocado & fried tofu, sliced butter poached lobster with ginger wasabi and yuzu dressing ($16), and Diver Scallop Dynamite, sweet baked scallops with masago and black tobiko ($14), to name just a few.

Other than the basic California Roll, Maki Rolls ($6 to $16) include kani kama (half $6/whole $10), blue crab or  king crab;  Yellow Jacket Roll with a side or blue crab salad ( 5 pcs $14);  Sesame Crusted Tuna Tataki Roll; a riceless Smokey Roll in nori pinwheel;  Surf & Turf with poached Maine lobster wrapped in  American wagyu beef’  Wagyu Tartare Roll; a vegan- vegetarian option mushroom sushi topped with crispy enokis & truffle oil, Cuban Roll,   Mexican Roll  and many more. All  Nigiri & Sashimi start  at $5 per piece.

The menu includes entrees and desserts such as a plate of different flavors of homemade ice cream wrapped in Chinese rice paper.  Delicious!
