To celebrate its first anniversary, the indoor/outdoor Flame Caffe & Grill at Plaza De España on Española Way has updated its menu to include vegetarian dishes. Besides grilled pizzas ($12 to $15), appetizers list Wild porcini Mushroom Vol-au-Vent ($11 with a light mushroom cream sauce and truffle oil; beef Carpaccio Rustico ($12), with baby arugula topped with Parmigiano-Reggiano and sushi-grade Atlantic Salmon Ceviche ($11) with shallots confit, capers, chives, jalapeños and whipped cream cheese splashed with fresh-squeezed lemon juice. Entrees range from 8-ounce angus beef Filet Mignon ($36) with garlic mashed potatoes and steamed asparagus and 14-ounce Mandarin Skirt Steak ($26) with sautéed spinach and goat cheese polenta; to one and a half pounds Maine Lobster ($36), steamed, baked or grilled with potato rosti and grilled asparagus and Grilled Scottish Salmon Steak($19) with Florida mango Dijon mustard beurre blanc over truffle risotto and tomato concassé. Sides list Goat Cheese Polenta ($7), Truffle Garlic French Fries ($7) and Sautéed Broccolini ($6). Desserts like Hot Chocolate Soufflé ($9) with vanilla bean ice cream, Cointreau Crème Brûlée ($11) and Caramel Apple Cobbler ($7) are all home made.
