Fairchild's 18th Annual International Mango Festival will celebrate The Mangos of India for three full days Friday, July 9 - Sunday, July 11, 2010, 9:30am - 4:30pm daily. Visit the festival to buy your hand selected mango trees and fruit, enjoy mango lectures and smoothies, view the world's largest display of mangos, take part in the world's only mango auction and buy mango merchandise and botanical art.
There will also be mango culinary demonstrations, a fantastic International Fruit Market, fun activities for kids and much, much more. It's all about mangos at Fairchild's International Mango Festival.
Kid's Activities: Your children will enjoy and learn. They can make mango leaf puppets, mango art projects, get their faces painted, create their own original mango art, and more.
Curator's Choice Mangos: The Curator's Choice Mangos selected by Dr. Richard J. Campbell, and Noris Ledesma Fairchild's Curators of Tropical Fruit, are mango trees well-suited to South Florida conditions. The trees will remain small in stature, yet produce top quality, full size fruit. Trees are approximately three feet and are in three gallon plastic container.
World's Only Mango Auction: On Sunday, enjoy the excitement of the only mango auction in the world while bidding on your favorite mangos. Join Dr. Richard Campbell, the Fairchild Tropical Fruit Program staff and auctioneer Jimmy Howell for a journey through the world of mangos.
Admission: Free for Fairchild members and children 5 and under, $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, $10 for children 6-17. Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, 10901 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables, FL 33156, (305) 667-1651 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting
