Starting on January 13th, adult consumers can enter their favorite burger recipes on and if selected, they will win the opportunity to compete in the at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival’s annual Amstel Light Burger Bash against celebrity chefs including Rocco DiSpirito, Bobby Flay and Top Chef’s Spike Mendelsohn on February 25.
Amstel Light’s Chef Jake Linzinmeir will select the winning recipe and will help the grand-prize winner prepare their delicious all-beef masterpiece on-site for the 2,000+ event attendees and the celebrity host of the night, Rachael Ray. The contest ends on Monday, February 8.

On January 8th, 2010, the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition concluded the annual week of judging at the Cloverdale Citrus Fairgrounds in Sonoma County, California.  Over five days, 63 professional wine experts within the media, restaurant and hospitality, education, winemaking and retail wine industries tasted and evaluated a world-record breaking 4,913 entries, a number that maintains the competition's status as the largest competition of American wines in the world.On  the final day of the judging process, each of the "Best of Class Judges' Choice" wines were carefully assessed one more time.  A comprehensive list of the wines and their awards can be found on

Consumers can look forward to tasting the Sweepstake Award Winners, along with hundreds of additional wines, at the 2010 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition Public Tasting, held at Fort Mason Center's Festival Pavilion in San Francisco.  The Public Tasting is an annual celebration allowing wine lovers to compare their favorites to the top picks announced at the judging while enjoying great food and breathtaking views.

The American Fine Wine Competition (AFWC), one of the nation’s most prominent top quality American-made wine events will be held  on January 17 and 18, 2010 at the Florida Culinary Institute at I-95 and 45th Street  in Palm Beach, with a panel of 20 judges including Virginia Philip (Master Sommelier, The Breakers), Chip Cassidy (Professor FIU & Wine Buyer, Crown Wine & Spirits) and Jennifer Jaco (Sommelier, Eleven Madison Park)among others.

The public is invited to join the judges and to receive two tickets to the Gala Dinner on March 13, 2010 at the Florida Culinary Institute featuring the winning wines and a five-star, five-course dinner prepared by some of South Florida’s top chefs: Johnny V, Cindy Hutson, Michael Wagner, Oliver Saucy and Master Pastry Chef Chris Northmore, in  addition to live entertainment by jazz singer Nicole Henry and performance artist Michael Israel.
