DINNER FOR TWO FOR A WHEELBARROW OF MANGOS, AT CHEF ALLEN'S.
The word is out: It's that time of year, mangos are plentiful, and Chef Allen is trading them for dinners. It's a simple deal that has become a Summer tradition at Chef Allen's Restaurant. Chef Allen Susser - A James Beard Foundation award winner and cookbook author - offers a "Dinner for Mangos" exchange to anyone bringing him a wheelbarrow (approximately 200 pounds) of mangos. He will cook a "Tasting Menu" for two, including wines, or give you an invitation for two to the "2004 Passport Series: Palate to Palette" : a series of dinners using the artwork of several renowned artists, both local and international, as his inspiration. The invite includes a cocktail reception, an exhibit, and conversations with the artist and the chef. Chef Allen's, 19088 NE 29th Ave., Aventura. 305-935-2900.
