13TH ANNUAL MANGO FESTIVAL AT FAIRCHILD TROPICAL GARDEN, JULY 9 - 10
July 9 - 10. 9:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Cookery host Madhur Jaffrey will be on-hand for a weekend of mango fun and food events. The event for the entire family offers mango tree-sales, mango lectures, mango food demonstrations, and samples of mango-inspired recipes by celebrity chefs. On Saturday, July 9, Chef Allen Susser of Chef Allen's and his daughter will teach kids to cook with mangos. And on Sunday July 10th, the Festival starts with the famous Mango Brunch at 11 a.m., with a menu prepared by local celebrity chefs, continues with the Chutney Challenge and culminates with the Mango Auction. BASTILLE DAY AT PASCAL'S ON PONCE
In celebration of Bastille Day, chef/owner Pascal Oudin of Pascal's on Ponce, is offering a special prix fixe menu on Thursday, July 14, 2005, lunch and dinner, for $37.95. The menu includes Chilled Tomato and Cucumber Gazpacho, Blue Crab Salad and Avocado ot Twice Baked Upside Down Gruyére Cheese Soufflé, Parmesan Crème and Peas Coulis; Atlantic Salmon "En Croute", Coulibiac Style or Oven Roasted Muscovy Duck Breast with Peach, Mushroom, Fingerling Potato, Natural Duck Sauce; and for dessert Baked Apple TarteTatin with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream or Montélimar Nougat Glacé, Red and Blackberry. LA BOÎTE À MUSIQUE @ DELANO HOTEL BEGINS FRIDAY, JULY 1, 2005
Beginning July 1st every Friday Night, 10pm-3am, La Boîte à Musique at The Delano showcases music, dance and freedom of artistic expression. The show goes beyond the stage and into the crowd as actors from the bizarre CircX, dressed up in elaborate Belle Epoque costumes, interact with the crowd. Performer Angelique and her pianist will perform two 30 minute sets: once at 10pm and then again at 12am., and DJ Neil Aline, a New York export from Apt and Cielo will entertain crowds nightly.
